Selling Tips

When you are selling your home, there is no guarantee that someone will instantly walk through the front door. Marketing is a huge factor when selling your home.

Here are some tips to consider when selling your home:

  1. Make Your Home Stand Out - Think about things that can change the aesthetics of your home (e.g. landscaping, upgrading windows or new roof, custom designs, etc.). Even the smallest minor change in your home can set it above other homes that are for sale in your community.
  2. Declutter - Cleaning up the interior of your home will allow potential buyers to see themselves in that space. If you aren't sure how to complete this process, hiring a stager may be an option.
  3. Curb Appeal - The first thing potential buyers see is the exterior of your home. Look at the exterior of your home to see if the hedges need to be trimmed, or something needs a fresh coat of paint. This will set the stage before potential buyers walk through the front door.
  4. Make Your Home "Move-In" Ready - Not only are potential buyers looking at the aesthetics of your home, they also want to know that plumbing, fixtures, electrical, appliances, etc., are in working order. The last thing a potential buyer is looking to do is move into their new home and having to fix things.
  5. Pricing Your Home Appropriately - Even if you have done home improvements, it's important to talk to a real estate agent and look at comparable homes in your neighbourhood to ensure your home is priced appropriately.

Before listing your home, make sure you have done everything you can to make your home look spectacular.
